About Heaven Lei Lucas

Heaven Lei Lucas is a Wisconsin native turned New York-based actress, dancer, vocalist, writer, and teaching artist. She fell in love with theatre and performing at age three when she would drag her family to the living room every night for the “Heaven Lei Show.” Within her own theatrical imagination, she found she could be anything. A popstar, a cowgirl, a comedian, a mime, a ballerina, the world was hers. Heaven has been dancing and acting professionally for over 10 years and has most notably appeared in the world premiere and original cast of Goosebumps the Musical. Additionally, she has had an extensive amount of training at prestigious performing arts institutions such as First Stage, Young Company, the New York Film Academy, Starz Dance Academy, NYU Tisch, The Experimental Theatre Wing, The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, and Blessed Unrest.

Having followed her passion, Heaven graduated with her BFA in Drama and a minor in Child & Adolescent Mental Health Studies from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. At NYU, she held positions of leadership as a resident assistant and within organizations such as the Feminist Club and Best Buddies. She also worked as an artistic associate with NYC-based theatre company, What Will the Neighbors Say?.

Furthermore, Heaven is a teaching artist with the Young Actor's Program at LSTFI, TADA! Youth Theatre, Treasure Trunk Theatre, and the Teaching Artist Training Institute (TATI) at Marquis Studios. Within her pedagogy, she aims to ignite a passion for personal and artistic growth in her students by having them actively participate in and reflect on their learning. She is also a licensed special education aide and believes that accessibility, diversity, respect, and empathy are essentials for every classroom! She is fascinated with her student's creativity, critical thinking skills, and all the magic they bring to each class.

Other essentials to know about Heaven is that she is an adventurous traveler, a fitness lover, a devoted writer, a dog mama, and an ice cream fanatic.

Heaven’s work has been widely celebrated and deemed as “exciting, entertaining, and tinged with humor”

Heaven is reliable, hard-working, invested, and engaged. She loves to work, it is clear. She loves acting, it is clear. Heaven grabs every opportunity to learn and grow that she can. She is able to go the very edge of her being. Curious and open, she is willing to put herself out there.

Andy-Arden Reese

Sean Donovan

NYC Choreographer
Heaven is able to fully develop, particularize, and embody a complicated character, full of contradictions. It is clear that she puts a lot of effort into her work. She takes notes very well and shows clear and marked development each time she shares a scene. She manages to catch all the levels of vulnerability, rage, confusion and helpless despair that her characters experience.
